Work Work Work

I think many people think elementary education teachers sit around and color and make pretty projects. This cannot be FARTHER from the truth. What am I doning today you may ask.....lots of work! My agenda for today......

1. Read Chapter four of Assessment First
2. Write my Environmental Factors report on the school I'm observing in.
3. Write my evaluation of the assessment I gave to the cutest little boy at Crestmont Elementary.
4. Meet my partner and work on our group project about Character Education.
5. Work on my intergraded music lesson (no i'm not teaching music but I still have to be able to teach it).

Then I will hopefully make it to bed on time....10:00 P.M. I may be a college student, but being an education major requires you to get up bright and early which requires sleep. This means I am no longer 20 I am now a 70 year old woman. Even with all this work I could never imagine being anything else. The great part about all this work is I actually enjoy doing it unlike all my other classes that had nothing to do with education. Okay I am going to stop procrastinating and get on all this work!

The Beginning

"This is the beginning." "Breathe." Finally today I got my acceptance letter to the Teacher Education Program from the University of Alabama. I am officially on my way to becoming a teacher. All that's left is pass block one, pass block two, pass block three, while working, pass the praxis examS, find time to sleep, and make it through my internship (hopefully in Ireland). Wow I have a long way to go. Opening that letter today was like opening the door to my future. Nothing felt real until reading the words CONGRATULATIONS. I'm almost done with block one and it has been a great semester. I contemplated on making this blog earlier, but I didn't feel like it was the REAL beginning until I was actually accepted into the program. No one or everyone may read this but that's not not the point. The point is documenting this indescribable journey. This is going to be a long, fun, scary, crazy, stressful awesome adventure.
